Reviews for The Dime
Review highlights
Based on 198 reviewsThe Dime, located on Lincoln Avenue, is widely recognized for its vibrant sports bar atmosphere, appealing particularly to sports enthusiasts and groups looking to enjoy games together. Customers frequently praise its attentive service and the quality of menu items such as wings and burgers, although the menu is noted to be somewhat limited, especially for non-red meat eaters. The spacious venue, complemented by good music and a lively setting, adds to its appeal as a casual hangout spot. Additionally, its affiliation as a Big Ten Bar sets it apart from other local establishments, providing a unique draw for fans and alumni. Overall, The Dime balances a welcoming social environment with solid food and drink options tailored to sports fans.
A cool place to hang out with friends and drink. Stopped in for the Burger and Beer Fridays. Unlimited beer for 2 hours and 1 burger. The burger was good, but unfortunately there aren't any other options besides beef for the non red meat eaters. A spacious spot with great music.
The Dime is a great spot for sports lovers. A Sports Bar that has a simple menu with some gems on it. Their service is attentive, and the wings are actually incredible. Ideal for groups and sports fans!
There are a number bars on this stretch of Lincoln Ave, and sometimes it may hard to distinguish many of them for each other. However, there are many as aspects of the The Dime that differentiate it from the other places in the area. First, it’s a Big Ten Bar. If this important to you and you are a fan or or went to a Big Ten school, this is a plus. Second, it has a little something for everyone. They have a number of TVs if you are sports fan and play cool music to listen to if sports isn’t your thing. Third, the food is good. It’s nothing fancy, just good bar good. I’ve been here twice, and enjoyed the food each time. On my first trip I ordered chicken wings, waffle fries and a chicken sandwich stuffed with Mac n cheese (I don’t recall the name). I liked each dish, but the way to go are the wings. They were on par with any of great wings I’ve had in Chicago. My second, and most recent trip, was to try their current Friday special. It’s $25.00 for a double cheeseburger with waffle fries and two hours of all you can drink beer. The burger was good and fries were crispy. My only issue was that pretzel bun was a bit salty. Overall for the price, and with beer included, it’s a good burger at a good price. For beer, I got a buckets of Bud Light and Coronas. Not the best beer in all the world, but for the price, on a Friday night and in Lincoln Park, this is a great deal. Overall, if you are looking for a good bar with good food this a place to check out.
